Pronóstico
La mortalidad del EE es alrededor del 20% (varía entre el 7%-50%).
El pronóstico depende sobre todo de la causa, la edad y la duración del EE.
El EE puede producir, además secuelas neuropsicológicas, cognitivas y de memoria.
